Please bring your welding gear for the first night. If you do not have it, the instructor will have some available for purchase. 

Class Information

The American Welders Society (AWS) certification preparation class covers skills, processes, and practices for entry-level welders. Includes instruction in arc welding, resistance welding, brazing and soldering, cutting, high-energy beam welding and cutting, solid state welding, ferrous and non-ferrous materials, oxidation-reduction reactions, welding metallurgy, welding processes and heat treating, structural design, safety, and applicable codes and standards. Geared towards welding needs with specific certification focus. Examples: Flux-Core Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding; Shielded Metal Arc Welding.

 Students are required to provide safety glasses, protective clothing (long sleeved shirt, long pants, close toed shoes or boots) and welding gloves. 

PREREQUISITE: Students must complete Advanced Welding Class prior to entrance of certification class.
